In Raymond's Run, Squeaky's strategy for managing Raymond shows us several things. First, it gives the reader insight into her love for her brother. She has more respect for him than even her parents do. She actually works with him and treats him as if he can accomplish something. Secondly, we are able to see Squeaky through Raymond's eyes. His sister looks out for him and accepts him for who he is, even when he wants to pretend he's a circus tightrope walker, or driving a muletrain.
