The most courageous character in Uncle Tom's Cabin has to be the slave, Uncle Tom. He is deeply religious and spiritual and this enables him to weather many of the tragedies and hardships that he is forced to endure. He stays true to his convictions and his desire to bring hope to the other slaves, and while in the end it kills him, he never wavers from his own personal truth.
