Why is Miles different from Jesse?

In Chapter Eight, we learn that Miles is the more serious of the two brothers.... he is steadfast and dependable. Jesse, on the other hand, is carefree..... enjoying every moment. It's also important to remember that Miles is most affected by their condition..... their ability to live forever. As a result of staying young forever, Miles lost the family he loved..... his wife and his children.
