The language of this novel tends to be highly informal and relaxed. As most of the characters are edgy, rebellious teenagers, the novel is filled with slang, and does include some foul language. The sentences are constructed with only minor adherence to grammatical rules. This makes the book easy to read, and does not cause difficulty in comprehension. Additionally, the slang and language of the novel actually help to convey the teenage feel of the book, and help the reader look inside the modern, edgy world in which these teens live.
