Scout is upset with Ms. Caroline because she chastised her for already knowing how to read. This upsets Scout because it is her father who has taught her to read and she enjoys the time they spend together. She thinks that Ms. Caroline possibly isn't a good teacher because she is so new to it. This entire scene shows that Scout is staunchly supportive of her father and sensitive to anything that might be desparaging.
