The major conflict in Fitzgerald's, This Side of Paradise, is the inner struggle Amory battles in following his knowledge and using the tools with which he has been provided, or continuing to pursue pleasure, living life as he pleases, and proving himself to be nothing more than a used, spoiled, young man.
