Who is Alicia Van Dorn from Things Not Seen and what is their importance?

Alicia is the blind girl that Bobby runs into at the entrance of the library. Over the course of the novel, Alicia and Bobby build a bond because Alicia cannot tell that Bobby is invisible. While helping Bobby to deal with his own disability, Alicia also struggles with her disability of being blind. Ultimately, their disabilites initially bond the two together but getting to know each other as people creates their bond.
