Why was Evly imprisoned by the evil enchantress in the novel, The Wishing Spell?

The evil enchantress wanted to use Evly to enchant and marry the king of the Northern Kingdom in an attempt to secretly rule the fairy tale world. Evly's refusal led the enchantress to lock her away in a hidden place for many years.
