There are quite a few themes that you might consider. Adventure is one of them. Grahame’s characters are adventurous within the context of their personalities. An adventure for Mole would be just leaving his Mole hole, while Toad likes to carjack and go for a joyride. There is always a sense of safety and home in their adventures, which ties into other themes in the book.
