Lewis refers to the writings of H G Wells in the sermons "Is Theology Poetry?" He cites this as an example of contemporary scientific ideas. He offers that such writings like Wells' can be poetic, but they are not, either true or false. Lewis calls the scientific writings of Wells "the finest myths which human imagination has yet produced."
