What is the author's style in The Wanderer by Sharon Creech?

Creech carefully contructs her novel with the use of personal journal entries.... allowing the reader to see inside the characters and know what they're feeling. Because of this, the entries or chapter, each deal with a significant event, moving the plot and engaging the reader.
