Who is Adelaide Bevan from The Tin Princess and what is their importance?

Adelaide Bevan was employed in a house of prostitution before meeting and marrying Prince Rudolf. When Prince Rudolf is killed after his coronation, she becomes the Queen of Razkavia. After negotiating a treaty between the two Great Powers, Adelaide becomes a target for assassination.
