Who is Diderot from The Phenomenology of Mind and what is their importance?

Fiction writer, Diderot, influenced Hegel during the time that he was writing the Phenomenology of Mind. The work was originally written in French, but was translated into German. Hegel based his notion of the "self estranged spirit" on a character called Rameau.
