The Pearl

I assume you are referring to Kino's decision not to sell the pearl? If so, Juana and Kino experience multiple obstacles as a result of this decision. The pearl is very valuable, and Kino is attacked on the road by a robber, who he kills. Kino, Juana, and Coyotito then find themselves being followed by trackers, and when Kino tries to thwart them..... Coyotito is killed by a stray bullet.
