A comparison-contrast is a comparing of similarities and differences between two or more types of materials or novels. You could compare The Outsiders to To Kill a Mockingbird as they both deal with prejudices, they both have characters that are posed with ethical and moral dilemas, and they both have characters that seem to be bad but in the end they have hearts of 'gold'. Of course, the differences are in the settings (TKAM is set in the deep south during the 30's and Outsiders is in the 60's). Also, the type of prejudice is different (TKAM is racial and TO is social class). Lastly, the point of view is different. TKAM is told from Scout's viewpoint (very young white girl) whereas in TO the viewpoint is from a young white teen boy's perspective.
