Who is Traveling Man from The Midwife's Apprentice?

The Traveling Man arrives with his wife at the inn, and Alyce is summoned to see if she can help with the woman's illness. Her illness, however, is not the "stomach worm" the Traveling Man believes it to be, but rather a pregnancy and the birth of a baby.
