Herbert W. Armstron is the founder of Armstrongism. He was born on July 31, 1892 in Des Moines Iowa and claimed to be a descendant of King David on his mother's side. He was raised by Christian parents. He believed he was God's sole channel of divine truth and the "Elijah" type who was coming before the return of Jesus Christ.
