What are two reasons Ted's mother give Rose?

When Ted introduces Rose to his family as his girlfriend, his mother isn't welcoming. She notes that it will be a long time before Ted can think of marriage, as he has years of medical school ahead of him. She also comments on the unpopularity of the Vietnam War, failing to see that Rose is not Vietnamese....... she is Chinese.
