The novel is written in the third person point of view. The majority of the novel is presented through Mitch's point of view. The reader goes along with Mitch as he tries desperately to save his wife. A few chapters are seen through Holly's point of view. These chapters are also written in the third person point of view. However, these chapters are not written in the past tense as the chapters seen through Mitch's eyes are. Holly's chapters are written in the present tense, giving the chapters more urgency. The novel follows one main plot line, the kidnapping of Holly.
