In Part I, Scene II, the Biblical metaphors or allusions are out of place. The fish fry with bread is similar to Jesus' story of feeding the crowd with limited loaves and fishes. The tradition of Baptism also began in the New Testament. The Bible and other legends indicate that angels do not age or have identifiable sexes. There is no understandable connection between a cup of boiled custard and the need for water in it, except that God created the Earth to get rid of all that extra water he called "firmament." However, the scene is clever and imaginative.
