Who is George and Myrtle Wilson from The Great Gatsby and what is their importance?

George is a mechanic, and Myrtle is his wife. Myrtle has been carrying on an affair with Tom Buchanan and dies when running into the street to flag down the car she believes Tom to be traveling in. Daisy Buchanan is driving the car that kills Myrtle Wilson. George, believing that Gatsby was driving the car, as well as having an affair with his wife, shoots Gatsby and then himself at Gatsby's home.
