What are the motifs in The Great Divorce by C. S. Lewis?

I think that surrender and forgiveness are both important motifs in the story. In order to enter Heaven and be in God's presence, people must forgive the wrongs done to them in earthly life as well as surrender any ill will that they have built up in their lifetime.
