The Fool is Wang Lung first daughter. She is important to Wang Lung because she keeps him motivated and is an excellent mood booster for him. Her significance in the novel is null i my opinion. She is not essential to the plot of the story. We just know she is very dear to Wang Lnng and O-lan's hearts.
