What is the main conflict in The Gods Themselves by Isaac Asimov?

The main conflict is the novel is man vs nature. As a result of new discoveries in technology, the Earth is provided with a new source of energy, unfortunately, the technology is not compatible with the Sun and threatens to destroy it. This threat of destruction causes a conflict between mankind and the beings in the parallel Universe.
