What is the theme in The Freud Reader by Sigmund Freud?

Caring for patients is another theme to consider. if Sigmund Freud did not care at all for his patients, then he would not have attempted this type of work. He claims that he was truly and whole heartedly benevolent towards his patients. His specialty was to cure neuroses. His patients were often severe enough when he met them as to have been hospitalized for their symptoms.
