The theme in The Floating Island by Elizabeth Haydon is a central theme of coming to age. The main Character, Venn, is a growing Nain who seeks his adventure when he gets to being of age. Unlike the other Nain Venn is curious and loves the sea. Through out the book he grows and becomes this worldly traveler.
