The main conflict in the story The Floating Island by Elizabeth Haydon is the enternal struggle of Venn accepting who he is. Ven comes from a race of people who aren't curious and don't like to gout of their home areas, he does. This causes him much grief in his village. He eventually grows to accept himself.
