Tolkien writes in simple prose that flows smoothly and can be easily understood. His use of language makes the immense detail and history easier to read and fully comprehend. The Fellowship of the Ring is also divided into two books. The first book deals with Frodo's journey to Rivendell. In the second book, the fellowship is established and the perilous journey to destroy the one ring begins.
