Mr. Frank kept his mind busy by working on the business's books and schooling the girls.
Mrs. Frank knitted, worked on crossword puzzles with Margot, and cleaned. She also ran interference between the girls.
Mrs. Van Daan read a lot, especially magazines, and she attempted to learn a new language.
Mr. Van Daan slept alot and knitted.
Anne wrote in her diary and daydreamed.
Peter turned his hand toward building things that would be useful.
Margot made herself useful and adaptable, agreeable to anything that was asked of her.
