Briana Morales is the middle child of the Morales family. She is described as a sweet, kind, and caring young woman, who is extremely devout. Briana's faith provides her with strength and hope. She also serves as a mediator between Julie and Alex, helping to keep the peace in their household during the most difficult of times. When Briana is sent off to a farm in the country, she understands but longs for home. When she returns home, she is clearly a very sick, young woman. Briana later dies in an elevator while attempting to leave her parents a note. Her death is mourned, but her siblings also realize that this quick, accidental death has saved her from additional suffering.
