Who is the antagonist in The Daffodil Sky by H. E. Bates?

Although he is not a typical antagonist, Frankie Corbett inspires a dangerous jealousy in the protagonist, which eventually leads to Frankie's death. Ulimately, many would agree that the protagonist, not Frankie, is the antagonist..... he is his own worst enemy.
