Who is Vera Zasulich from The Communist Manifesto and what is their importance?

Vera Zasulich was the translator for the 1882 Russian-language edition of the Manifesto of the Communist Party. Engels describes her as 'heroic', but he declines to comment on why Bakunin's earlier Russian-language translation was deemed unacceptable.
