Who is Lexius from Beauty's Release and what is their importance?

Lexius is the Sultan's Chief Steward of the Grooms. He chooses Laurent, Beauty, Tristan and Elena to perfect. He is the only person from the Sultanate who believes that sex slaves are capable of higher thought processes. He experiences a role reversal with Laurent and Tristan, becoming their slave. When they are rescued, he does not save himself and he is taken with them. He begs to serve Queen Eleanor. She sentences him to two weeks in the kitchen as a precursor to serving her.
