Thematically, the cycle of movement is as apt today as it was in the 1950s. Migrant workers continue to move with the season, adjusting their schedules to the different harvests.... they have to be where the jobs are, thus settling down is virtually impossible. With every move, the workers and their families are pretty much starting over, which makes it difficult on the families because they have no roots, no family foundation, and no structure for their children... one example of this lack of structure would be the children's education.
