Who is William Everett Hunton from The Beautiful Room Is Empty?

Hunton is a vivacious homosexual with whom the Narrator becomes friends while at college. The narrator finds Hunton's sense of freedom and openess to be inspiring, but he is repulsed by the way he comports himself. Hunton is the epitome of what the Narrator doesn't want to be.
