Massachusetts delegate, Elbridge Gerry, was one of the delegates who refused to sign the Constitution. His primary objection was its neglect of including a Bill of Rights. Unlike most anti-federalists, Gerry had a general distaste for democracy. He later became the governor of Massachussetts, and the fifth vice-president of the United States (under Madison). Gerry also provided inspiration for the term "gerrymandering."
