Roles of women is a recurring idea in the story. Although the female characters in Snow Crash are the focus of the narrative less often than the male characters, it is the female characters who accomplish the most. In the beginning of the book, Y.T. delivers the pizza for Hiro, saving Hiro from the wrath of the Mafia. Y.T. is also the one to obtain the Snow Crash sample, and provides Hiro with useful intelligence on the drug.
