Sir Gawain and the Green Knight

Why does Gawain consider himself the knight best qualified to accept the challenge?

Sir Gawain is really the only one up to the challenge. The rest of the Knights give many excuses as to why they cannot. Gawain is the purest of heart, accordingly, and so supposedly is his faith. These factors make him qualified to take the challenge.
