Jefferson Polly was a scout with Forrest's Cavalry. He was kicked out of seminary, after which time, he spent years traveling around the world. He was on his way home when he saw Forrest's advertisement for men to join the cavalry. Jefferson was with Forrest when he repulsed the charge at Fallen Timbers.
