Faith is a recurring idea in the story. Faith is believing without seeing. The theme of faith is found throughout the book. It becomes an integral part of the Intercessions that take place. The Lord makes it clear that prayer alone or prayer with doubt is not enough. One must pray with faith that the prayer has already been answered even though it is not yet seen. In the cases where there is prayer for healing, it is very difficult to have faith in the promised healing when the very sick person still lies before you.
