Parkins is Brigham Langston's valet. He has worked for the Langstons for many years and he is completely loyal to the family. Parkins pays close attention to Brigham's clothing and well-being, and he insists on getting his own way, even when Brigham threatens to fire him. Serena described Parkins as steady and loyal. Parkins later proposes to Mrs. Drummond, the MacGregors' widowed cook. The couple marry, and later accompany Serena and Brigham to England.
