Faith Daniels’s parents leave her alone to head off with the Drifters because they know that she will need to focus on herself and her training for the coming war. They have spent as much time as they could sheltering her from what she truly was, so that she could have as normal an upbringing as possible. They deeply love her, and even though they have left her, they continue to keep an eye on her from a distance until they are killed.
