Clara disobeys her parents because she doesn’t want to be part of a war that is of their choosing, and not hers. She feels like a pawn, and wants respect. Clara also comes to view Faith as an enemy, not just because of the war plans of her family, but because Faith has managed to win Dylan’s love when Clara could not –and Clara takes that deeply personally.
