In Pride and Prejudice Mrs. Bennett declares that Mr. Bennett is tiresome. She says this because he doesn't like to become or entertain the idea of trying to marry off his daughters. He seems to find the entire notion of making a 'good match' for purely financial reasons distasteful. She finds his lack of interest in seeing the daughters well married tiresome and frustrating.
