The infamous letter from Darcy to Elizabeth in Austen's Pride and Prejudice is the literal turning point in the story for them both. He tells her what she won't give him time to explain in person. After she reads it is when she begins the self reflective journey that allows her to see clearly for the first time in the novel, and to entertain new possibilities.
