In general, Franklin was a person who loved learning and loved helping other people. Publishing his almanacs gave him a chance to share some of his wisdom with others in a way that was both thought provoking and at the same time humorous and casual. Although Franklin was not well-schooled, he spent much time reading and teaching himself in this way. Even in his time, Franklin was a well-known inventor and experimenter.
