In The Pines, the main character, Ethan (a secret service agent) begins to suspect that he's being lied to. First, he discovers the body of his partner (who had presumably been dead only a couple of weeks) in an old abandoned house. His body had been tied down and he'd been tortured. From the degree of decay, the body had been there longer than 2 weeks.
