Roxane is the newest of Usbek's wives. In Letter 24, we learn that Roxane closely guarded her virginity. In the book's final letter, we learn that she did so because she disliked him. We also learn that Roxane was the instigator of all the problems in the seraglio, and when she is actually caught with a lover, he is killed by the eunuchs. In revenge, Roxane kills the eunuchs who murdered him before taking her own life.
