Peter the owner of the wildernes fox named Pax. Peters uncle told him to let Pax go so they left him in the forest.

Peter's father told him that he had to release Pax into the wild. His father had to report for military duty, which meant that Peter had to stay with his grandfather. Peter could not take Pax to his grandfather's home.
