Who is Darryl (Musashi) from Pattern Recognition and what is their importance?

Darryl (Musashi) is a fellow footage-head who is fluent in Japanese. He helps Parkaboy create Keiko, and they successfully manage to lure a fellow footagehead who reveals critical information that eventually leads to the identity of the author of the footage. In the process, Darryl finds himself involved with the real life model for Keiko (Judy) who upon discovering their deception seeks to make things right. She contacts the Osaka footagehead, Taki, and after much suggestive emailing back and forth. Judy later moves to Japan to be with Taki.
